SALO, in partnership with the Open Society Initiative for Southern Africa, hosted a public multi-stakeholder dialogue on the conflict in Northern Mozambique.
Voices of marginalized groups affected by the conflict (eg. IDPs, women, children, religious & ethnic minorities) were amplified. Speakers included João Feijó, coordinator of the research line on Poverty, Inequalities and Conflicts at the Rural Environment Observatory in Maputo; Julia Wachave, Director of Cabo Delgado, Mozambique, Women and Girls Protection (ONG); Fatima Mimbire, Journalist and Human Rights Defender, and others. Bishop Rubin Phillip, SALO Board Chair and Co-chair of the KZN Social Cohesion and Moral Regeneration Council closed the session.
