Puntland Forces Continue Crushing Militants in Northern Somalia Coastal Province

Puntland security forces launched crushing attacks on the hideouts of al-Shabaab militants in the Northern coastal province of Nugal on Thursday, killing scores of militants and injuring many more, sources said.

The battle between both sides continued for a second consecutive day as the security forces heavily pounded the militants’ positions in the remote areas of Suuj valley and Bad-qadey village, pastoralists who escaped from the battlefield said.

Somalia Cabinet approves nomination of 6 new ambassadors

Somalia’s Federal cabinet approved the appointment of six new ambassadors proposed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Horseed Media.

The new ambassadors, which their duty stations have not been revealed due to unknown reasons, were unanimously approved in the weekly cabinet meeting held in Mogadishu on Thursday.

The appointments are yet to be formalized with a decree of the President. The appointments will also not be final until they are formally approved by the host countries concerned.
