Bashir and Museveni discuss bilateral ties, peace in S. Sudan
Presidents Omer Hassan al-Bashir and Yoweri Kaguta Museveni held Tuesday a first meeting on bilateral relations and South Sudan peace immediately after the arrival of the Ugandan leader.
Sudanese presidential assistant Ibrahim Mahmoud on Monday expected that Museveni’s visit will create a breakthrough in the bilateral relations between the two countries, adding that an agreement on this respect will be signed.
SRF groups announce readiness for six-month cessation of hostilities in Sudan
The rebel umbrella Sudanese Revolutionary Front (SRF) announced its readiness to sign a six-month cessation of hostilities with the Sudanese government and called on the latter to engage in genuine and comprehensive dialogue.
The rebel groups held a five-day meeting in the French capital Paris where they discussed political situation in Sudan and adopted an “alternative roadmap towards peace and a comprehensive National Constitutional Dialogue”.
