SALO Virtual Public Dialogue: Migrant Policy Changes in South Africa – 26 June 2025

On the 26th of June 2025 the Southern African Liaison Office held a virtual public dialogue on migrant policy changes in South Africa to the “White Paper on Citizenship, Immigration and Refugee Protections: Towards a Complete Overhaul of the Migration System in South Africa” as well as the Immigration Amendment Bill B8 – 2024. 

This dialogue sought to assess the relative strengths and weaknesses of these proposed changes and the implications for human rights and South Africa’s immigration policy framework.
